Experienced Judge since 2018
Judge Kevin Cunningham was elected to the Circuit Court of Cook County in December, 2018. His first assignment was in the Traffic Division where he heard misdemeanor criminal charges. In April of 2019 Judge Cunningham was transferred to the Sixth Municipal Division in suburban Markham. Judge Cunningham hears traffic, misdemeanors and felonies at the Markham Courthouse.
Prior to joining the Bench Judge Cunningham was a solo practitioner handling criminal, personal injury and real estate matters. Judge Cunningham was also appointed as Village Prosecutor where he served the Village of Oak Lawn from 2007 to 2018. Additionally, Judge Cunningham was an Administrative Hearing Officer for the Village of Willow Springs from 2014 to 2018.
Judge Cunningham has served on the Board of Directors of the Southwest Bar Association. He and has served terms as the President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer of the Southwest Bar Association.
