Judicial Experience
Judge Ramirez has presided over matters in the First Municipal Division, Traffic Section and various Misdemeanor and Preliminary Hearing Branch Courts throughout Cook County, the Domestic Violence Division, Civil Orders of Protection, and the Juvenile Justice Division where she currently presides over Juvenile Delinquency matters.

Legal Experience
Prior to being elected to the bench, Judge Ramirez served as an Administrative Law Judge for over fourteen years with the Illinois Department of Public Health and the Illinois Department of Human Services where she presided over a multitude of civil administrative hearings. Judge Ramirez began her legal career as an Assistant Public Defender with the Office of the Cook County Public Defender serving in the Child Protection Division, Juvenile Justice Division, First Municipal Division and Post-Conviction Unit. Judge Ramirez also established the Law Offices of Ramirez, Haggerty and Parry where she practiced Child Protection, Juvenile Justice and Criminal Law as a private practitioner.

Education
Judge Ramirez received her Juris Doctorate in 1989 from the University of Wisconsin-Madison Law School. In 1986, she received her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a minor in Italian from Loyola University of Chicago.

Judge Ramirez is a member of the Illinois Judges Association, the National Hispanic Bar Association, the Hispanic Lawyers Association of Illinois, and the Puerto Rican Bar Association.
