Judge William G. Gamboney

Accolades: The Chicago Bar Association rated William G. Gamboney “Highly Qualified” in 2012 and noted that “he has tried many complex cases and is highly respected for his integrity, legal knowledge, trial skills, and outstanding demeanor.” Chicago Council of Lawyers stated that “He is praised for his demeanor and honesty.”

Judicial Experience: Judge William G. Gamboney was elected Circuit Court Judge in 2012. He is currently assigned to the Criminal Division where he hears felony criminal cases. From May, 2013 to November, 2017 he was assigned to the Juvenile Justice Division. Prior to this he served in Traffic Court.

Legal Experience: Prior to becoming a Judge, Judge William G. Gamboney managed his own Law Firm from 1993 to 2012. He was a Cook County State’s Attorney from 1979 to 1994. He was an Associate at a small Law Firm from 1977 to 1979.
