Judge Ramon Ocasio

Judicial Experience: Judge Ramon Ocasio is currently assigned to a felony courtroom in the Fourth Municipal District. His previous assignments include being assigned to Cook County’s Bond Court at the George Leighton Criminal Court Building. At this assignment, Judge Ramon Ocasio presided over preliminary hearings, extradition matters, misdemeanor trials as well as bond court. His next assignment was at the Fourth Municipal District where he presided over misdemeanors, preliminary hearings and Drug Treatment Court before being given a felony courtroom.
Legal Experience: Upon graduation from law school, Judge Ramon Ocasio spent four years as a public defender representing indigent clients in criminal cases. He left his job as a public defender to run the Illinois Attorney General’s Northwest Regional consumer fraud office in Chicago. Eight years later he would return to the public defender’s office as an Attorney Supervisor, where he supervised 18 lawyers, working in six different courtrooms, at three different sites.
