Judge Kristyna Ryan


Fourth Municipal District, March 2010 to Present
Judge Ryan currently sits in the Fourth Municipal district, where she is assigned to the Specialty Courts for Mental Health Treatment and Veterans, in addition to her rotation in general misdemeanor, bond court, petty and misdemeanor traffic, marriages, misdemeanor violation call, and periodically civil calls. She is also currently working with the Chief Judge’s Office on Restorative Justice initiatives.

First Municipal District, December 2008 to February 2010
Assigned to traffic court rotation, marriage court and trained to handle matters in other First Municipal District
court calls including forcible entry and detainer and collections among others.


Judge Ryan began her education and career in environmental policy and planning. After obtaining a B.S. from The Ohio State University attended law school at Chicago-Kent College of Law and graduated with a J.D. and certificate in Environmental and Energy Law.

Judge Ryan worked full-time on environmental policy issues during her undergraduate education and while attending law school, and upon completing law school, continued to work on environmental and regulatory issues in the telecommunications industry on regulatory compliance for cell tower development.

After leaving the telecommunications industry in 2003, Judge Ryan entered private practice working as a solo practitioner and with Childress, Duffy, Goldblatt, before being elected to the bench in 2008.
