Judge Daniel Kubasiak

Judge Kubasiak was appointed a judge of the Circuit Court of Cook County on November 30, 2012 by the Illinois Supreme Court and elected to that position on November 4, 2014.  Judge Kubasiak has served in the Law Division, Commercial Calendar “T” since May 3, 2018.  Prior to that, he was assigned to Law Division, Tax and Miscellaneous Remedies Section, and prior to that Municipal District One.  Before his appointment, Judge Kubasiak was engaged in the practice of law for over 31 years, gaining experience and knowledge along the way, starting at a large firm, Winston & Strawn LLP, and ending at a firm that he helped establish, Kubasiak, Fylstra, Thorpe & Rotunno, P.C.

Judge Kubasiak has been a Director of the Lawyers’ Assistance Program since 2012 and is its current Vice-President.  He is also a member of the Board of Advisors of Catholic Charities, a Director of the Poshard Foundation for Abused Children and previously active as a board member of the Loyola Academy Hockey Club and coach for Glencoe youth baseball.  He is married, has two adult sons and is a member of Divine Mercy Parish, Winnetka.  Judge Kubasiak was honorably discharged from military service as Captain, USAR.

Judge Kubasiak is a graduate of Xavier University, Northwestern University, J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management, and Loyola University, School of Law.
